Grads and Giggles
The Texas crew joined us for a wonderful week-end. We attended the highschool graduation of the youngest nephew---last one for this generation. Somewhat bittersweet with the absence of his mother who passed almost 1 year to the day. It also reminds me that my dear brother will be living alone for the first time. I have plans to start some new traditions to include him in hopes to stave off some of the loneliness. We visited great-grandmother who was looking happy and healthy. Of course, we had Hide-away Pizza-which always helps the daughter-in-law feel better especially with the constant morning sickness. We grilled steaks, ate sweet yellow corn, oven fried potato rounds, and green pea salad. The rest of the time was spent walking miles around the property keeping up with the toddler and of course laughter. Oh yes, the toddler got another ride with G-pa on the big green tractor. Oh, the fun of having a toddler around! I loved every minute of it.

Sweet Tea Week-end
I hate for week-ends to end almost as much as DH. We had a surprise call on Friday evening asking if oldest son and 18 mo. Grandson could visit overnight on Sat. I was elated!! From FB post my daughter-in-law was having a tiresome week with the little man. Seems as though DS had been working week-ends and late nights leaving no alone time for MOMMY. She had hinted that it would be nice if Grandmother wanted to visit. I was trying to plan something and then WOW this happened. It has been a fun filled two days with lots of laughter, kisses, vrooms, more kisses, and many hugs.
We visited Great Grandmother in the nursing home on Sat. evening. She was certainly surprised to see DGGS. He was leary of her but sure liked pushing her walker around. He never really warmed up to her but she was delighted to watch him busy bee around. Brother-in-law came visiting right as we were leaving so we got a bonus.
The "guys" went out to the shop to see the new BASSCAT this A.M. They came in right at DGS's lunchtime. As he finished his food his eyes became very heavy. It was hilarious watching him try to keep his little eyes open and then nodding back off. Guess all that "guy business in the shop" wore the little guy plum out. When
he got up from his nap we watched a little basketball but we were more entertained
with the sweet little guys clapping and chatter. Then.....time to go home. Even though the week-end is not technically over, the fun is over. Now if I could only skype with the West Coast Tip's, and see our lovely Okie daughter............
I hated to see it end.

Bricktown and BBQ
On Thursday and Friday I tried to act normal. Didn't work as well as I had hoped. I knew I needed to start getting out and now that I had started I couldn't look back. So, Saturday morning I got up, made a fancy dessert and got ready to go to my professional educators once a month meeting. I enjoyed hearing an educator speak about her recent return to England complete with a powerpoint presentation. She had completed her student teaching in this same location some 30 years ago. It sure wet my appetite to see England. DH was at Bass Pro in downtown OKC so I suggested I meet him for lunch. I had some delightful BBQ at Earls. Yummy!! We then spent some time shopping together (which is a rarity) I rather enjoyed this with the DH. Dh wanted to try out our new smoker so on Sunday we had the pleasure of informal dining with Dear Brother, Dear Nephew, Dear Daughter and her boyfriend. It brought back memories of the times we did this with my Dear Sister. I miss her still. My camera got as far as my vehicle, now I just need to get it out and use it. What a great week-end to savor!. ahhhhhh!

WISHING I WAS TIPPING THE TEAPOT
I was unable to eat or drink after midnight so I was trying not to think of my warm, soothing, comforting cup of tea. Preparing for minor sinus surgery(third time is a charm) I was calm, but oh so thirsty. Guess everything went fine according to DH and Dr. I committed on the way home that I felt like I had something in my eye. I slept the whole afternoon but when I awoke my eye was burning, stinging and just plain hurt. DH called the Dr. and he sent me immediately to the ER. He had made arrangements for everything so I was immediately wisked away to a patient room. Fastest service I have ever had in an ER. After putting some numbing drops in my eye(I would have paid thousands for those drops at this time) and about five people looking asking questions, I was told that I had an abrasion on my retina. They could have called it anything as I was just enjoying the relief from the numbing drops. It all took about an hour and one-half from the time we left home until our return. I looked pretty foolish with sun glasses and a visor in the dead of night. I really wasn't thinking about fashion. I prepared to sleep in the recliner per Dr.'s orders. I was glad it was over because what started out as routine changed into "could I lose my sight in my right eye". I am thankful for a Dr. who prays with you before surgery and Blesses you when he is satisfied things are okay and we are dismissed. Of course, my DH never left my side. He dutifully cared my coat, I Phone, ID and anything else he was asked. I am extremely blessed to have his presence with me. As my DNL use to tell people about my youngest son, "He's a good man". Hallelujah for all of that and ice cream sandwiches. (DH thought that would be a good way to end the day)

Another cup of tea
After my relaxing 2 cups of very pleasing, warm, comforting tea this AM, I was off to see the Neurologist------"just" because I continue to have weird headaches. He changed my med. We had a enlightened conversation about my sensitive scalp being migraine in origin. Thank goodness, it occurs only periodically. Now I am trying to prepare myself mentally for having my pic. made for the church directory. I think that is "just" because they called me and asked me to sign up. I think I will 'tip" the teapot this afternoon.
